The study found that Americans are traveling more than ever before, but the number of people who are choosing to stay home during the holidays has increased by 12% in the last year.
The holiday trends 2021 is a new study that reveals the holiday travel trends for the next five years.
Expedia has published fresh holiday travel statistics for the upcoming holiday season.
Travelers are in the planning stages for Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to the study, with the most popular locations being Mexico, the southern United States, and the Caribbean.
Travelers in the United States are sticking closer to home for the holidays once again, rather than venturing farther away. Colorado and Utah are popular locations for those seeking cold-weather getaways and winter activities.
“Whether you want to spend your vacation on the beach or on the slopes, the best way to get a good deal is to be flexible with your travel dates and take advantage of the available discounts,” says Christie Hudson, senior PR manager for Brand Expedia. “For example, simply booking via the Expedia app saves members 10% or more, which is a fantastic way to get more bang for your money over the Christmas season.”
