The next batch of ships to begin operations has been announced by Carnival Cruise Line. The announcement comes as the Miami-based cruise company prepares to relaunch 17 ships by the end of 2021 and 19 ships by February 2022.
Update on the Carnival Cruise Line’s Relaunch
As anticipated, the cruise company provided an update on ships that will resume service in 2022 as Carnival moves ahead with its plans to resume operations. Because more time is required to put the whole fleet back into operation, five boats will be placed on hold until 2022.
It now implies that the whole United States fleet will resume sailing in Spring 2022, in line with other major cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.
“Our restart strategy continues to perform well across all parameters, and we look forward to completing the fleet restart in the new year,” said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy. “We thank our customers’ patience and support, as well as our travel agencies, port and destination partners, who have all contributed to this successful relaunch.”

Carnival Cruise Line’s announcement is hardly surprising, since many customers have already seen cruise cancellations when they were pulled from the booking engine earlier this week. Guests who have made reservations have already received a letter informing them of the resumption and cancellations.
A report on the two Carnival cruise ships stationed in Australia is also included. Carnival Splendor voyages from Sydney are cancelled until February 7, 2022, while Carnival Spirit ships from Brisbane are cancelled through February 20, 2022, with no indication on when the cruise industry in Australia may reopen.
