Delta Airlines has been struggling to keep up with the rapid growth of its business in recent years, and it seems that the company is finally making progress in this regard.
Delta Airlines is a company that provides air travel for passengers. The CEO of the company, Ed Bastian, has provided an update on their plans to better serve customers.
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian reminded consumers that the company promises to do better, acknowledging that the unanticipated speed of the resumption of travel has resulted in “some unforeseen difficulties.”
“The last thing you want is to be on wait for an extended period of time when calling reservations or receiving notice that your flight itinerary has changed,” Bastian said in one of his “Letters From Ed” series, which started with the pandemic last year. “We understand that you demand more from Delta, and we want to reassure you that these difficulties are just temporary. The Delta team is here to help you and is already taking steps to relieve these issues.”
What’s Hot Right Now
They include increasing personnel and resources to decrease phone and airport wait times, which has been a major issue for all airlines that have been swamped by the rapid resumption of travel.
“With the surge of passengers returning home after more than a year away, our phone and airport agents have been inundated with inquiries regarding travel rules and schedule changes,” Bastian wrote. “As a consequence, there have been substantial wait times, which is why we are swiftly increasing personnel and using new technologies to serve you as quickly as possible.”
According to Bastian, the Reservations and Care team is rehiring 1,300 experts who will be educated and ready to assist clients by September.
To complement critical service areas like catering, wheelchair staffing, and a continuing commitment to cleanliness, Delta is recruiting more than 5,000 employees throughout the company, including more than 3,000 in Airport Customer Service and other operational areas, according to Bastian.
Delta will also extend its digital resources, such as Delta.com and the Fly Delta app, to help customers keep up to speed on entry requirements using its Travel Planning Center or see country-by-country information on the Delta Discover Map to plan a journey.
“One of our fundamental principles is to continuously learn from our experiences and use what we’ve learned to better serve you. Bastian said, “We are dedicated to restoring and surpassing the dependability and service you’ve come to expect from us.” “We appreciate your patience as we continue to work to improve and enhance your experience.”
